I'm inclined to say the last freight out of Astoria was the week after Thanksgiving 1995. City Lumber in Astoria used to have reefers spotted there... I never knew what for.. but that was the last place in Astoria proper to have anything spotted at it. A few years prior to that, there were some hardwood pulp logs that went to the far end of the line for export that came in gons. But those switched to Olympia, and then vanished shortly after that. I want to say that was more 1992-1993 or so.

For a while, Wauna was moving some big slugs of rolls from there to the Halsey mill. They may have only made 1-2 moves like that though, as I am not aware of it continuing. This was approximately 1 year ago.
