I did read the article but missed that point. Thanks for pointing it out. My experience pertains to Dolores and the cell phones were very useful there. No signal problems in that area. Since your handle is Verizon I will point out that IDEN is going away in a few months. I think Renzenberger had Motorola cell phones in the vans. IDEN is noted for being good for emergency and utility operations.
