Question it - even if it is from an official source. They lie too!

Even if is from CBS - they didn't admit it, but they suddenly decided to fire Dan Rather after he got caught doing it the second time. He didn't admit it either - he's sueing! (See BS on CBS)

Even if it is from CNN - they did admit their own lying about Iraq!

With current Amtrak fares just somewhat under Air fares, I would imagine even a 10 or 15 percent increase would put Amtrak completely out of business. Besides, the fares for state sponsored services are set by the states by way of contract. With so many such contracts out there, no accross the board increase is even possible.
