If there are any references to using the Subway Terminal for the LA downtown connector they would be interesting to read. I don't think they're in the FEIS (http://www.metro.net/projects/connector/) - virtually everything (other than at the curves) is in (under) streets. Being a stub-end "terminal" the S.T. would seem to be difficult to use for a through line (connecting the Blue & Gold lines) anyway. The Subway Terminal building itself has been rehabbed as fancy condos (http://www.metro417.com/) and probably wouldn't be available for a new station site anyway.
