Save it for what? Practice for the fire department? Like so many other wooden railroad artifacts, it WILL burn down, just a matter of when. For a city that has destroyed the majority of historic buildings, saving one old trestle is too little too late. Somehow I smell that clown Diridon in this---does he want something else named for him? He has not (fortunatly) gotten his ill concieved railroad museum or is this some kind of perverse addition to that?
Grand entrance to Willow Glen? Yeah right, from a paving company yard to beat up Coe St? Thru unkempt trees and a homeless camp. I guess that will those useless yuppie types that parade thru Willow Glen a dose of real life.
If anyone was so interested in history, preservation of the old WP "Fish Hook" line intact might have been worth while---maybe a home for streetcars condemned to a couple of hundred feet of track in Kelly Park.
