Hi....

Went to look.

MP 23.54

Cliff says this one needed lots of work anyway.

Most of it was on fire and quite charred (fire out) by time I got there. Fire crews were starting to leave. CalFire will investigate cause in AM.

Cliff says this bridge was originally built to be used as underpass for moving livestock (no creek or stream). Practical thing to do is fill it in with perhaps a culvert to handle storm water. Landowner (State Park?) might want to preserve underpass for future use. May be old agreement requiring railroad to maintain bridge at that location so as to provide landowner access to fields on either side of track.

At any rate, glad it was a little bridge.
