John Illman Passes Away

It is with great sadness that we lost John Illman on June 20. John was an outstanding photographer who is best known for his iconic photos around the SF Bay Area of both steam and diesel in the late 40's and 50's. His photos were featured in numerous books and he was a regular contributor to most of the rail magazines. Another of the great early rail photographers has been lost. May John rest in peace and his legacy will live on through his photography that he shared.
