The new South Lake Union Trolley streetcars are being operated by King County METRO full-time bus drivers who have to enter into a signed agreement to devote the following 12-month period to operating the streetcars. And I believe the operating voltage is "close" to METRO's existing 700 volts or so for their trolley buses but not the same..

The new light-rail vehicles operated by Sound Transit, again with METRO bus operators, do indeed operate on 1500 volts, DC...

The George Benson "Waterfront Streetcar Line" will be back in operation after construction of the new Carbarn and multi-purpose building at Main & Occidental Streets.

For a more descriptive view of the T-Shirts Mr. Seelye is alluding to, check out the TOP of Page # 17 of the December-2007 issue of TRAINS Magazine...

Cheers.
