Wow. Clearly our education system is failing us.

"Natural forest" = a wide variety of trees, plants, animals, and clean water all nicely diversified and living in equilibrium, scrubbing CO2 from the air and producing great shade, camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, etc. for everyone to enjoy.

"Sustained Logging" = a monoculture of wood fiber-production that is clearcut every 15 years or less for corporate profit, with gates locking out any other use.

Be nice

Oh, you mean like back in the early '80s, when the logging companies engaged in r*pe and run tactics to log all the redwoods along Redwood Creek to within 600' of the river, not to mention directly next to a NATIONAL PARK, that nearly wiped out the tallest trees on earth before legislation was finally passed to stop them? Talk about scorced earth. Even a massive effort to re-seed the region with Doug Firs failed and redwoods were toppled by erosion along the cut line borders. Yeah, that was a real good practice there, especially the part where the logging companies disappeared and didn't pay a dime for the reseeding effort. By the way...the loggers also put themselves out of a job in norcal after they were finished with that. Good job, idiots.
