While I tend to prefer PBS shows about nature, current affairs and American history, sometimes I want pure entertainment even including low-brow comedies such as 2 1/2 Men.

I've tried watching some of these "reality"* TV shows and most are not even decent junk. I feel that I need to get a lobotomy just to sit through one. I can understand why TV networks broadcast them as they are very cheap to produce. But why does there always seem to be a pool of people willing to be on these shows??? I cannot think of anything which would make it worthwhile to be on such programming.

* Ironically named because they don't depict any reality with which I'm familiar.
