As far as where they ran during their working careers, I believe that it was between Cheyenne and Ogden and also down to Denver. There were likely exceptions during WW2 and they could have operated east of Cheyenne.

The one that the oil burner change was tried out on was 4005 and I believe that it's on display in Denver. That's a huge firebox to try to fill with a single oil burner, but that can likely be solved, maybe with more than one.
