The Big Boy in question used an all - U.P. routing to Pomona,( Dead - in - Tow ) which included Cajon Pass. Pics are in Chard Walker's 2 books on Cajon Pass. As Tom noted, the Big Boys did not operate on the Salt Lake Route in regular service, though the Challengers did.
