I do have some experience in ITS for roads, cars, and trains. And, we have had the technical capacity to make trains safer, and have had it for years, using advanced communications, detection, and controls. It's really not that expensive compared to disasters like these.

What we have a problem with is a political system that won't act in the public interest, because no one is paying our politicians a bribe for that......
