The CO2 emitted from wildfires, or the burning of wood for home heating, etc is considered "carbon neutral" in terms of the CO2 in the atmosphere. Sequestered carbon, or that in carbon fuels such as coal and oil that are locked away in the earth are those that add to the general CO2 load of the atmosphere.
Burning wood and vegitation, either in wildires, or in your stove or fireplace releases CO2, but its CO2 that is part of the carbon equilibrium. A tree that dies will rot and expell CO2 as much as it will when it is burned.
