The STB website indicates that the sale to Permian Basin is pretty much a done deal and in fact
a decision to conceal the financial details has been issued. I would expect that the line will be
reopened to it's full length as they will want to build on the freight base and not try to be a
tourist only line. As to the steamers, they're just going to another Permian operation so who
knows they might be back.
