I course not!

Because then you all would have to admit that nearly all business closures and shutdowns of once thriving businesses in California, can be traced back to widespread extremist state and local government actions, of one sort or another - much of it related to rampant NIMBYISM, fallacious environmental regulation, etc, and a love of junk science to justify it all; or is it just plain old fashioned socialist punishment of private initiative.

All these things not only make it hard to do business at all in California, but also cause severe distortions to all markets, free or otherwise. It does not matter what business you are (or were) in, the negative effect on a business when it must adhere to regulations and requirements, that its out of state (or nation) competition does not have to meet; is truly staggering. But us Californians must not let this reality intrude!

Even well over 200 years ago, the framers of the Constitution realized this, when they solely appointed Congress to regulate commerce, instead of the states. Too bad Congress and the last three Presidents have forgotten this too - in forcing a highly regulated USA economy to compete with NON-regulated places such as China and Mexico. But apparently, those that govern us won't let reality intrude either!

Specific to the case of San Onofre, after it was shutdown only for routine maintenance; is the inability to re-open it due to the staggering set government hoops that must be jumped through first; only to then find out another whole set of hoops has just been imposed. It was a business decision, yes; but it was one that was forced by radical extremists in government, with ridiculous and impossible regulations. But let's not let any reality intrude!

In California, these things are now happening to power plants of any kind (even solar, wind and hydro - all renewable resources), water storage, public works, oil refineries, steel mills, mining, highways, rail transit, seaport maintenance, construction of any sort, ad infinitum! Reality WILL Intrude, whether you let it or not, when those things are no longer available in California; or are severely rationed by a favor playing governor.

Although small niche players still remain; what do you suppose drove out virtually all the big automobile, lumber, steel, etc, industries out of California? And how come the 2010 census caused California to lose several seats in the house? DUH! - Not only businesses, but people are being driven out, or destroyed altogether. But please, let's not let reality intrude!

Indeed, the whole housing bubble started in California; and burst there first, before it took out the nation's whole financial industry, causing a worldwide banking collapse. It's not so strange that California's housing price bubble produced no new production, as would would usually be expected when prices rise, while it priced nearly everyone out of the market, even before any banking collapse. The whole bubble was mostly caused by severe state and local restrictions on new housing, severely distorting the market, and naturally causing it to collapse. But let's not let any reality intrude!

Meanwhile, just the opposite has been happening elsewhere, in several smarter locations where reality has already been listened too. Reality is that those regions with more reasonable regulation, fared much better, or had no real-estate collapse at all. They just kept on truckin'; and most importantly, have already recovered from the "2nd Depression" (your naked emperor won't call it that - but so what - he lies - a LOT!).

Yes, reality must not intrude! But I just couldn't help it! The reality of no paycheck intruded anyway - And worse yet, the reality that my whole industry had moved away - intruded even more!

But after I finally left California, reality began intruding in much a happier way. The differences between here there are truly immense. Unemployment here is down to near 4%. I now have a secure job that feeds, cloths, and houses my family, with a modest amount extra. I say - that sort of reality can intrude all it wants!

PS - I guess I might have to change my posting handle on this website - or maybe I'll just leave it as it - as a reminder. Oh - and don't bother asking me where here is! I won't tell! I wouldn't want all you NIMBYs and extremist nutcases to bring your BS here and wreck it all!

I will say however - its one of those right to work states y'all hate; where they actually let you live, and work, and do righteous business all you please, without punishing every success. Oh, and they have a simple flat tax too. Here, 5% is 5%, period! No flimflam, no BS, No more fearing the California Franchise Tax Board, No more profoundly creative math and No more exceptional greed!
