Many years ago I boarded Amtrak's westbound Southwest Chief in Flagstaff AZ on the evening before fall-back day. We left Flagstaff essentially on time. When we got to Kingman AZ they put us in a siding to wait for the clock to catch up. At least two freights passed us while we were sitting there.

Slick way for a late train to make-up time with absolutely no effort.
