I'm not surprised the car was bad - ordered, as the Spirit cars have many non - standard fittings. Look at the HUGE cylindrical vent on the roof of one of the cars in the picture; it's a restaurant rooftop or side wall vent and NOT built for any sustained railroad use. Remember that the Spirit of Washington ran at very low speeds on little - used branch lines in Renton and Tacoma. I rode it several times out of Renton and the ride was quite poor with lotsa rocking side to side. Could have been due to BN's mentatility regarding the branch line maintenance, or it could have been due to poor truck and suspension maintenance by Spirit. Still, I'm sorry to see the cars leaving, as I thought the Spirit could have been successful running from Snohomish South to Woodinville.
