If I remember correctly when I visited Alamosa in 1972 the standard gauge part of the roundhouse was still standing. There was an ex-NdeM passenger coach in what remained of the yard, again as I recall. I believe the coupler height was different from that of the Rio Grande. Does anyone know what became of the coach?

I had been down to the roundhouse in July,1960. They had the 491 on the table and were busy working on putting the tank back on 493. The workshop guys were very nice and let my brother and I climb up into the cab. Memorable.
