Bob Larson purchased the OP&E corporation (including name and logo) from Bohemia after they scrapped out the original railroad. The OP&E has engaged in several attempts over the last decade or so to establish some kind of operation somewhere, mostly on railroad subject to abandonment through the Offer of Financial Assistance process- they were one of the the three parties to file a Notice of Intent to prepare an OFA on the McCloud Railway abandonment, then a couple years ago they surfaced as trying to purchase the old SP Bailey Branch south of Corvallis through the OFA process when UP and PNWR started their abandonment of the portion of that line not conveyed to the farm and now operated by the Albany & Eastern. I want to say they have surfaced on a few other abandonments as well. Quite some time before that, the OP&E reached a preliminary deal to operate the Wallowa-Union Railroad and had arranged to lease the McCloud #25 to use on that line- the last gasps of the old Northwestrails.com website were essentially as a paid mouthpiece for the OP&E. However, that deal fell through as well.
