I was a Maryland kid and the NEC between Baltimore and DC was my stomping ground. Odenton and Bowie were the primary foaming spots. Odenton was a short piece straight 3 track main with the line curving out of sight on both ends. The signals were in plain view and were the first indication of an approaching train, then you could hear the wire zinging and then a headlight. Until the headlight was seen you had no idea what was coming. The G's, E44's ,and Metroliners were plentiful and frequent.

What amazes me is the majority of published pics of NEC action are from New Jersey and New York. Did anyone shoot in Maryland?
