During a scheduled "smoke stop" in central California I once watched a sour overzealous Starlight conductor follow a small group of college kids off the platform, around the corner of a building and out into the parking lot. As he walked he told anyone in earshot that he was sure they were "about to smoke that wacky tabbacky". They were well over 120' off the platform on a secluded tree lined grassy median away from any other passengers. He could be heard yelling at them threatening to leave them off the train if they dared smoke. In the meantime a haze drifted along the platform as coach passengers spilled out and lit up their cancer sticks.
