UP in Columbia River Gorge

Driving east through the Gorge on January 11, UP had EB after EB stacked up on sidings, on the main… in one place (around Cascade Locks, I believe), there were two freights on the man and a WB baretable in the siding. Later on, from across the river east of Maryhill, it looked like there were a few WB stack trains also waiting. Anyone know what happened? Was it weather-related? A derailment? I was hurrying home so I didn't have time to investigate.
