This big PR thing doesn't set real with the shortlines, particularly this one.

As a matter of practice, UP normally gives the shortlines an annual increase to their Handling Carrier interchange rate of around $3 per car which in our case amounts to around $3,000. a year. Our maintenance budget for 2014 assumed that the 20+ year old practice would continue through 2014. W R O N G !!! Instead UP reduced our 2014 amount by $3 per car to 2012 levels thereby eliminating some $6,000 plus from our track maintenance budget. All this as UP brags about "RECORD QUARTERLY PROFITS"!

Thanks Uncle Pete...glad to see we're subsidizing your f..n steam program...we're NOT at all impressed!
