Wes, it CAN be a very fascinating topic and comical too.. For example, several years ago on Trainorders.com a 'thread' got started about the old days of TOILETS on trains--the days before retention tanks came into being! It was one of the longest threads hosted by T.O. at the time.
Different stories were put forth that would cause you to get misty eyes from laughing so hard-- However, when this one story was put forth about a poor Carman who had to go under a coach in the dead of Winter to "clean out a frozen trap" and the entire story was in exquisite detail from start to finish, most of us had to have a supply of kleenex from crying our eyes out laughing. It was the funniest tale you ever heard!!
