OK, little known fact, south of Dunsmuir, near Soda Creek bridge, there are a number of steam locomotives buried to shore up the river bank. Some decades ago a flood uncovered parts of them--I remember climbing over a tender--but no pics!! And the memory is faint, so I'd say this was around 1980 when I still lived up there.
These seem much more reachable--although I suspect they were robbed of any good parts before being dumped.
