Back in the late 1970s, many of the logging railroad trestles were still partially standing, especially the ones south east of Castle Craigs State Park. I was always told about locomotives and cars still "out there" by hunters who ran across them--but none of them could take me to the locations! There's also supposed to be a complete steam engine, upright in the woods north east of Mt Shasta. Nowadays, most of those roads are gated and locked--we can no longer access public lands!!
