You're so far off the mark, you've landed in a whole 'nother country.
The "militia" and the "people" are one and the same in the 2nd Amendment. The idea being that it is citizens who are the last line of defense against invading armies (both foreign and domestic), and thus the citizens shall have the right to keep and bear the types of small arms (and the relative components necessary for full functionality of those weapons) a defender of the Nation would use. In the modern context that means semiautomatic rifles which use detachable standard capacity magazines, collapsable stocks, muzzle brakes and flash hiders, pistol grips, and short range optics, along with the proper ammunition ...... however much one chooses to own.
Also keep in mind that all hunting rifles and sidearms basically had their start as military weapons.
