Where did Dave Moffat think he was going?

The Denver & Salt Lake left Denver, crossed the Continental Divide at Rollins Pass, went down to the Colorado River, left it at Bond, climbed over another summit to the Yampa River, and wound up at Craig.

What was the plan from there? Where were they going to cross the Green River? How were they going to avoid both the Uinta Mountains and the Book and Roan Cliffs? Where were they going to cross the Wasatch Mountains?
