Drew,
Chill out. Who said anything about "rights". I live here. I know people who work on the equipment. I pass by the storage yard almost everyday. And I didn't know that they had left. Historically, they are special units. Hate to see them leave Portland. BUT...What I think the question here is, how could these two engines get all they way to SLC and not be seen by someone. With all the talk about us crazy "foamers",[I hate that word], seems like alot of people were asleep behind the wheel. Even with todays technology, it seems nobody wants to "spread the word" when something happens. How can a NS heritage unit vanish for a whole week in the PNW and no one sees it? The NorSou unit went to Arco [last report] then went all the way back to ND and half way back before anybody noticed. I've only seen the Reading unit [at 4 am] but would like to see all of the heritage units, If I don't, oh well....
