Re: How come no one said anything?

It always saddens me to see people posting complaints or negative criticism about things that either they do not have full knowledge of or feel they know more than everyone else.
Chris Fussell steps forward and works, and gets things done, and engages others, and helps bring others into in idea. How can that ever be bad? Is he perfect, no! Neither am I. Are you?
Before Dynamic Rail Preservation was formed, a small group of railfans heard first about the thefts of copper from 231 and then heard about talk by those entrusted to the care of 231 and 644 of disposing of them.
That small group of railfans, the very same railfans that were involved in saving 231 from disposal at Amtrak how many years ago, stepped forward and up to the plate to figure out the best way to preserve both 231 and 644.
A remote security camera system was quickly researched, designed, tested and put into place. With private personal funds. Within a very short time, it paid off and perpetrators were apprehended and sentenced.
That small group of railfans then began the long and not-easy road of forming a proper professional non-profit corporation who has been finally and recently granted 501(c)3 tax exempt status by the IRS.
Then that small group of railfans put forth their time, money and effort to take the steps needed to begin the journey of full operational status for both 644 and 231, as was originally planned and envisioned way back when. Moving them to Ogden Union Station just happened to work out to the best option.
Things are being done step by step, with safety, respectfulness, thoroughness and professionalism always leading the way.
As time and appropriateness allows, more information will be published.
Sincerely,
