This has to lead to a lawyers' full employment party. Let's see - barge co. sues: NCRA, NWP, Caltrans, both counties, Coast Guard, Corps of Engineers, (anybody else they see) on more or less the obstruction to navigation grounds; and all of them sue the barge/tug company and shipper and the skipper for not being able to drive straight and damaging the bridge that hasn't been used as a bridge in ages. The only ones that will eventually collect much will be the various lawyers. Sadly, that was (if I remember previous discussions correctly) in better condition than most of the other NWP bridges. Hope it was more a tap than a bump or a crash. Chronicle article wasn't abundantly informative either, but left the impression that the barge at least received little damage. [
