The Northern Divisiondiedoff in the early 1980s with the recession under Pres Reagan. The GP-7s were transfered to Pueblo's Middle Divison and most likely spent a lot of time stored. The Southern Division didn't last a whole lot longer either, both being gone before 1990. The current recession has not been kind to the new mine/RR owner West of Trinidad. While some coal got shipped, it was far, far from being enough to warrant relaying the tracks. The steel mill is now largely the electric furnace and rail mill with some other minor amounts of other stuff like grader blades, maybe wire.
