The thing that is ridiculous about the hydrogen
powered buses is that they are incredibly energy
inefficent. Creating the hydrogen takes a lot
more energy than you can even theoretically get
out of it. Then the fuel cell and motor combination
only gets about 40% of the theoretically available
energy. So a lot of energy gets squandered. For
added fun, hydrogen and air mixed is explosive in
concentrations between 5% and 95%, so it's pretty
dangerous stuff as well!

The thing that is good about light rail and streetcars
is they get people to switch from cars, which buses don't
do in this country.
