Also to be considered is the fact the State of Washington,through its' Dept. of Natural Resources, now holds title to the Milwaukee Road Right of Way in question. While most of it is part of the John Wayne Iron Horse Trail, there are also several utility easements along the R of W. I'm sure the bridge over the Columbia River @ Beverly, though mostly intact, would need $eriou$ attention; and let's not forget the 2.2 % grade facing Westbound trains once off the bridge. Then there's the U.S. Army and its' Yakima Firing Range impact zone.
All in all a non - starter to me.
