USHSRA is a trade/lobbying group, funded largely by major A&E firms (PB, etc.), major contractors, and certain equipment suppliers who stand to benefit from planning, designing, building, and/or providing equipment. It is a predominantly corporate funded tax exempt PR organization which has promoted HSR.

Diridon and Kopp are probably the two biggest fools most responsible for the current state of the "super-speed" HSR fiasco in CA. And, I actually do support HSR....but not the CHSRA's wasteful, costly, mismanaged, poorly planned, contract steering turkey, which meets no identifiable CA transportation needs, that these two fools are primarily responsible for.
