Cheney, WA access alteration

I don't know when it happened this summer, but the City of Cheney (WA) has put up a new gate on their sewer plant access road (a big impressive chain link sucker). The gate is right past their transfer station/recycling area at the maintenance yard. It effectively shuts off access to the very top of Marshall Canyon by preventing anybody from driving into where you could park where the old road between the BNSF and UP lines took off. That road was not only useful for us photographers, but also popular with joggers and mountain bikers--but unfortunately also popular for people moving out of their residences when school is out at nearby E. Washington Univ. and needing a place to dump their crap. Access to the top end of Marshall Can. is still available from Anderson Road, but it's a longer hike in. Any walking in from the Cheney end would now require trespassing.
