250,000 Indians and a few million post Gold Rush immigrants is about all CA could take. I guess you can re-plumb a place until it's unrecognizable if you have the political will. The people keep coming. The best ag land in the World keeps getting turned into houses and more houses, some still empty. When Jerry's Dad, Governor Pat Brown announced CA had surpassed New York as the most populous state back in 1962 or so, I remember thinking that was not a good thing. Now it's three times not a good thing. CA used to be the 6th or 7th largest economy is the World. Ever hear anyone talk about that anymore?
