A few years ago my cousin called from the east coast. She was informed from a 'stranger genealogist' that there were films on E-Bay shot by our Grandfather. My cousin has a movie camera and a projector that was known to be our Grandfathers, but not a stitch of film. Story goes from the seller, he had found all this film at a junk and antique fair. Film boxes intact from the late thirties to mid forties with our Grandfathers name on them. E.R. Hull. We managed to get 26 of the 27 films. The one we didn't get(but the seller was kind enough to make a copy on disc) shows my Mother to be at age 10, her sister at 20(my cousins Mom to be....) sitting down to a Christmas dinner with their parents, our Grandfamily. WOW!
Don't throw anything into the trash! And YES! I.D. it all if you can. Then, E-Bay it(the seller pays for the postage!)Can't be bothered to sell it, GIVE it away! Historical society. Museum! Call me! I'll come get it!(Don't tell my wife though.....)
Most of the folks here are probably in there sixties, to eighties. You saw a life I never got to see. Even TEN years makes a big difference in certain circles. I'm 56. I LOVE seeing your photo's up here. Tell the story of the photo at The Photographers Railroad Page, Mr. Burwash, Mr. Jacksich.
I'm in the same vote, but by God, it ain't going in the trash! If anywhere, I'm digging a rather large time capsule on the side of my house. Well dry and drained. For the future, FUTURE!
