Cylindrical tires, coniical tires, Swiss cheese tires, dones't matter. Its a result of the low inertial wheels (aluminum ceterns with steel tires) running on a rigid track structure (the "double pours" used in the subways and elevateds). But B. S Stokes knew better. PCCsa with TRC super-resliient wheels are prone to this too. And city blocks, how about MILES. I live about three-four miles away, and on some nights, BARTD trains are so noisy they wake me up. Also think "BARTD, what me fix??"
