Just for information the Automatic Equipment Identification or AEI tags (gray bars) on the sides of cars and locomotives are Radio Frequency Identification Devices in that they use a Radio Waves to read them. Not Magnetic per say as that would be a big problem in the railroad environment.

This is better system then the old optical ACI system.
