CMO may still exist as a corporation. There may be all kinds of reasons that the UP might use a different corporation to acquire rail cars. What is surprising is the UP was involved in cars with reporting marks ending in X. There use produces less car hire revenue than railroad owned cars. If they never left the UP it would make no difference.
