I have seen some pictures but it was history around 72. Much like Santa Barbara, Alturas, Cresent Lake, etc. The "Run Throughs" wiped out a lot of yards and crew change points across the system. I was told they had a roundhouse & everything else including the yard.
With Gerber, the only screw up was the old double track mains. They kept the westbound as sort of a siding but it was the westbound main. It was 10-20 MPH. Then you had to have a low green to get back on the east valley to Roseville or a high green to go down the west valley.
Many, many people and officers wrote and called to get this changed to a Main or siding. You could not go west down the eastbound main. Nothing. Finally someone woke up. It took almost 20 years and they signaled the old east main for both directions, saving a lot of time dragging in & out of the "siding". I don't have Sigs book handy but I am sure it could shed a lot of light on the situation.
