Apparently they don't remember history. I was a manager at the Eureka Inn and drove the Inn's trolley years ago when a cruise ship came in. Typical Eureka day - foggy, cold, homeless begging for money, sleeping on sidewalks and benches. As I gave some of cruisers a tour on the trolley, once the awesomeness of the Carson Mansion and some Victorians passed (about 20 minutes) the overwhelming sentiment was "why in the hell did we stop here" I can pretty much guarantee that none of them ever planned to come to Eureka again or gave any of their friends a positive recommendation.
