The NWP no longer operates to Eureka. It is the 100th anniversary of the NWP. And, this is a good resource for your questions.

The line is abandoned in-tact (and overgrown)in portions north and south of Eureka, and largely washed out in the Eel River Canyon on the northern end. On the Southern end it is out of service from North of the current operating portions of the recently restored NWP freight service, and will be partially shared with the new SMART commuter rail system in Marin and Sonoma Counties (San Francisco North Bay suburbs).
