SMART Is Laying Track In San Rafael

Here are some pics today of track construction in San Rafael. It looks like there is still some culvert work to be done in places between Civic Center Drive and Cerro. The Puerto Suello work appears to be ongoing, with a retaining wall phase under way near the north portal, although I did not venture up to see it.

According the to SMART construction updates page the line will be replaced up to Haystack Bridge by the end of this month. Also the double track in Novato will be completed. At present parts of both siding and main are completed so they were able to move a bunch of rails down to Hamilton by rail dollies. From there the 800 foot rails were moved over the ground all the way to North San Pedro Rd.

High tide today at Gallinas Creek was around a 6.5 at 11:39am. I was out shooting Civic Drive right around then.
