There is virtually no remaining business needing rail service south of Ignacio. The two concrete plants (McPhail and Camgros) in San Rafael are gone, no lumber yards, etc. .

Rebuilding the crossing at Anderson Drive (south of San Rafael) is going to be interesting. It was removed by the city without permission, and apparently current PUC standards require a grade separation because of the flat angle at which the railroad crosses. Google Earth measures the crossing as over 650 feet long.

I saw one article quoting the city as saying "don't worry, we'll replace it if it is ever needed again." Well, that time is almost here...
