Yes, the car heads from LA on #14, you get off in SLO and are bussed the rest of the way. The car proceeds to Oakland and is turned. The last day you get a wine tasting tour to two or three wineries, with lunch at the last one, then catch the car as it travels south on #11 at Paso Robles.

The LA trip I was on was only a two day affair, so from SLO we were transported directly to Hearst Castle, spent the night at San Simion, then over to Paso Robles for the wine tasting. This year's trip is advertised as a 3 day affair, with more time to relax and see other sights. See their website for all the details of this and other trips.

One I forgot to mention is for people who are both Opera Fans and like riding vintage private cars (or who love trains and are dating someone who loves the opera :-). This trip is LA to Santa Fe and back. You travel to and from Albuquerque by dome / sleeper, on the Southwest Chief. Then stay in Santa Fe, with optional trips to the Opera, the Cumbres and Toltec, and other points of interest. I did that last year, taking in two operas and the C&T. With this trip, the car(s) stay in Albuquerque.
