As Vern said, I don't see what the big deal is or where the innovation is. In the early 90s on the UP we used to routinely run APL trains out of East LA yard that were in the 13,000 foot range (2.5 miles long) with six up front and two manned helpers. Nothing "innovative" here as far as I can see. Nice footage though.
