mook - right, that is San Jose Avenue (not Alemany). Good catch!
Nice posting of Google Street view map, too. Note how bridges were modified with truss-arch beams to eliminate mid-span piers and open up the Muni rail and roadway routes.
With all the changes that a nearly a century has wrought to this landscape, that long low stone block retaining wall in 1930 photos is still present in this October 2014 view.
Well, at least an objectionable (to NWPer) chain link fence has been moved a bit.
